Today I can
Tell the story of a cat,
A cat which does inquire
About all things she acquires,
But one ting she doesn't know,
She's a fool all day long.
Stupid cat
Dares control everyone at want,
Only good to ask for favors,
No gratitude towards others.
Between four walls
Seems like a whole new world,
Though small in perimeter,
In it lies an ocean of wonder!
"But what wonders?" the silly cat asks
While the other cats she pass,
To her, not one of 'em counts,
The others, "Let's hunt her down!"
"We are tired,
She feeling greater,
Always asking favors,
Never finding pleasure."
So the plan will be
To let her be
Until one day,
While she's awake
Being herslef,
Scare that spirit of hers...
...no ruller now
Controlling us around,
Who would tell
For order fell?
Time goes by freely,
Choices as well quickly
Is there fear to follow?
Their destinies fear owns.
Hazel Eyes
Those eyes which you have have much more to tell,
Hazelnut splendor I would die for,
Each glance I take, they cry for help,
Hazel Eyes, no need to cry more.
More than anyone else I've seen,
Tears which falling from your eyes seem
As if waltzing they are bound
To twist the truth arund.
Oh Hazel Eyes
Please no more lies,
No need to cry more,
Peace is just ashore.
Like Revolutionaries we will revel,
My hand never ungrasping yours,
Piercing Eyes will tell the truth
Until doors are closed
And oppresors awed!
A color of mellow beauty
Takes pride on sweet still defying setting
Do not give up on this journey,
Peace awaits you on its ending.
Welcome to my Reflections!
Thanks for joining me! I am Alexander Ortiz Velez, a 16 year old Puerto Rican currently living in the state of Florida, US. I am a music composer who firmly believes in the correlation between literature and music as a powerful method of conveying a message. Here I will keep all my written works (mostly free-verse poetry and text I didn’t use in my music); I hope you enjoy it.
Let me give you a glimpse of who I am and my ideology:

“Works of art make rules; rules do not make works of art. Claude Debussy, probably my biggest inspiration.”

Still, while being proud of my culture, I believe that every culture has great things to offer, and that every culture it’s beautiful in it’s own way. I wish to one day get more familiar with more cultures, and incorporate cultural knowledge in my music…
Thank you for joining my blog,
Alex
